Deze tacsonia is in collecties nog uiterst zeldzaam . Komt uit Ecuador al waar hij voorkomt op een hoogte tussen 1950 en 2350m. Deze tacsonia wordt waarschijnlijk bestoven vleermuizen en heeft daarom een bijzondere bloeiwijze. Helaas nog geen fotomateriaal.
